Electroanatomic mapping of atrial tachycardia—Manual vs automated annotation☆

چکیده
Introduction The availability of novel mapping systems and software in combination with or without dedicated multipolar diagnostic catheters allows for automatic high-density 3-dimensional electroanatomic mapping that enables detailed insight into atrial tachycardia mechanisms. For the accuracy of the activation map, the consistency of electrogram annotation is crucial. Depending on the system used, numerous algorithms (eg, peak amplitude or rapid downstroke of the unipolar signal) are currently implemented that can be selected for automatic signal annotation. For reliable automatic high-density mapping with thousands of points acquired within a few minutes, the robustness of the implemented algorithm is critical, especially for fractionated signals or double potentials.

Application of ripple mapping with an electroanatomic mapping system for diagnosis of atrial tachycardias.
BACKGROUND Three-dimensional (3D) mapping is often used to guide ablation in atrial tachycardia (AT), but maps can be susceptible to annotation and interpolation errors. Ripple Mapping (RM) is a technique that displays electrogram time-voltage data simultaneously as dynamic bars on the surface shell to overcome these limitations. OBJECTIVES We hypothesized that RM would be superior to establi...
متن کاملElectroanatomic Mapping-Guided Radiofrequency Ablation of Adenosine Sensitive Incessant Focal Atrial Tachycardia Originating from the Non-Coronary Aortic Cusp in a Child
Incessant focal atrial tachycardia may be encountered in the pediatric age group although it is rarely seen. Ablation using radiofrequency or cryothermal energy is the preferred method for drug-resistant cases. Recently, 3D electroanatomic mapping systems have been increasingly used for mapping and ablation. In this report, we presented, for the first time, a pediatric case with incessant focal...
متن کاملCARTO three-dimensional non-fluoroscopic electroanatomic mapping for catheter ablation of arrhythmias: a useful tool or an expensive toy for the electrophysiologist?
This review enlightens the application issues of the novel CARTO electroanatomic mapping system (Biosense Webster, Diamond Bar, CA, USA) in both research and clinical electrophysiology. It is a very useful tool in catheter ablation procedures in patients with sustained atrial tachycardias, macroreentrant atrial arrhythmias after surgical correction of congenital heart disease, and ventricular t...
متن کاملCardiac ripple mapping: a novel three-dimensional visualization method for use with electroanatomic mapping of cardiac arrhythmias.
BACKGROUND Mapping of regular cardiac arrhythmias is frequently performed using sequential point-by-point annotation of local activation relative to a fixed timing reference. Assigning a single activation for each electrogram is unreliable for fragmented, continuous, or double potentials. Furthermore, these informative electrogram characteristics are lost when only a single timing point is assi...
متن کاملCatheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias guided by electroanatomic imaging (CARTO): a single-center experience.
BACKGROUND Catheter ablation is assuming a larger role in the management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. Conventional fluoroscopic catheter mapping has limited spatial resolution and involves prolonged fluoroscopy. The non-fluoroscopic electroanatomic mapping technique (CARTO) has been developed to overcome these drawbacks. OBJECTIVES To report the early and late outcome in patients wit...
